Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage ( SPVB ) – an alliance between Suntory Group of Japan and PepsiCo of the US – has inaugurated its 20-hectare manufacturing plant near Ho Chi Minh City, representing a total investment of US$300 million.

As the company’s sixth facility in the country, the facility in Tay Ninh province stands as SPVB’s largest and most technologically advanced production site in Vietnam, ranking among the largest within the global network of Suntory and PepsiCo across Asia.

The mega project is located, about one-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City, in Huu Thanh Industrial Park, a new industrial zone in Long An – now part of Tay Ninh.

The new plant features a designed production capacity of up to 1.24 billion litres annually, strengthening its ability to meet growing domestic demand while being structurally designed with the operational flexibility to support other international markets in the future.

The project is expected to inject significant economic value into the region, creating 3,000 jobs across the supply chain, developing a localized industrial ecosystem and driving broader financial benefits for Tay Ninh province.

Engineered as a future-ready manufacturing hub, the facility integrates automation, digital technologies and smart manufacturing systems across the entire production sequence, from initial raw material handling to packaging, warehousing and logistics. It boasts regional-leading speeds, the company shares, with can lines operating at up to 120,000 cans per hour and Pet ( polyethylene terephthalate ) bottle production lines reaching 84,000 bottles per hour.

Furthermore, the facility is fully equipped to manufacture beverages using 100% recycled Pet packaging. Sustainability has been embedded into the design and daily operations of the plant, which was developed in strict accordance with LEED Gold standards from the US.

“Vietnam is one of PepsiCo's most dynamic growth markets and an important part of our international beverages business,” says Eugene Willemsen, PepsiCo’s CEO of international beverages. “The Tay Ninh Plant reflects our confidence in Vietnam’s long-term economic potential and our commitment to being a partner in the country’s next phase of development.

“By investing in advanced manufacturing, digital capability, sustainable operations and local supply-chain growth, we support Vietnam’s ambitions for innovation-led growth, while continuing to deliver high-quality beverages for Vietnamese consumers.”

Josuke Kimura, Suntory Beverage and Food’s president and CEO, adds: “As one of our most exciting growth markets in Asia, Vietnam presents evolving consumer tastes. This investment strengthens our ability to respond with speed, scale and innovation for Vietnamese consumers and potentially across the region.”
