US-headquartered global lender Citi has appointed Anuja Desai as its managing director and head of ratings based in New York, starting in late September and reporting to Dave Friedland, the co-head of North America investment banking coverage.
In the role, she will advise clients globally on ratings dimensions in the context of financial strategies, working closely with Citi teams.
She brings deep expertise in financial analysis, client relationship management and strategic advisory across diverse sectors and geographies. Most recently, she served as a managing director of ratings advisory at J.P. Morgan, a position she has held since 2022.
Previously, Desai held various ratings advisory roles at J.P. Morgan in New York, London and Mumbai, where she developed her foundation across advisory, origination and capital markets.
Her appointment, the bank notes, “reflects its continued commitment to providing clients with sophisticated, pre-emptive guidance on how rating agency criteria will affect their financing strategies”.
