UK-headquartered asset management firm M&G Investments ( M&G ) has appointed Ruth Poh as its head of compliance for Asia-Pacific, reporting to Tim Page, the company’s chief compliance officer.

Poh, based in Singapore, will lead the company’s compliance function across the region with responsibility for regulatory and compliance risks, and for providing advisory oversight as the business continues to grow its investment and client activities in the region.

With over 20 years’ experience in compliance and operational risk, Poh has a track record of building regional frameworks, engaging with regulators and supporting business growth and development. She joins from UBS Asset Management, where she was head of compliance and operational risk control, and is the chair of the regulatory committee at the Investment Management Association of Singapore.

“Poh’s appointment strengthens our compliance leadership in Asia-Pacific to support our growth internationally and operations across multiple regulatory environments,” says Tim Page, M&G’s chief compliance officer. “She brings extensive experience in governance and a strong track record in developing regional frameworks, enabling us to continue meeting the needs of the business and our clients.”

Amy Cho, the company’s Asia-Pacific head, adds: “We are building our business in Asia-Pacific with a clear focus on where our investment capabilities are most relevant to clients. Poh’s deep regional experience and understanding of asset management will be instrumental as we accelerate our growth, supported by strong, effective oversight and a long-term perspective.”
