Salim Zaman

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation ( SMBC ) has appointed Salim Zaman as global head of foreign exchange.

Based in Singapore, Zaman will lead the firm’s global FX business while continuing in his role as co‑head of global markets and treasury in Asia-Pacific.

 In his expanded mandate, Zaman will oversee the bank’s global FX strategy and strengthen its ability to deliver comprehensive and integrated FX solutions to clients worldwide.

He will work closely with regional leadership teams on resource management for the global FX business, including the sourcing, development, and retention of talent to support the long‑term growth of the firm’s FX platform.
