Citi has appointed Yuko Nakayama as head of equity capital markets for Japan investment banking, effective December 1.
Nakayama will report directly to Taiji Nagasaka and Akira Kiyota. She will also have matrix reporting lines to Harish Raman and Kenneth Chow. The ECM team in Japan will report to her.
In her new role, Nakayama will be responsible for leading and further strengthening the bank’s equity capital markets ( ECM ) business in Japan.
She will focus on deepening client relationships, driving strategic growth initiatives, and leveraging the bank’s global capabilities to deliver high-quality solutions to clients across the region.
Nakayama’s career includes an earlier tenure at Citi from 2009 to 2015, followed by a period at Goldman Sachs, before she rejoined the bank in 2023. Since her return, she has been instrumental in securing and executing several significant ECM deals.
