Clifford Chance has announced that technology specialist Stella Cramer will join the law firm as a partner based in Singapore. She will lead the tech group in Asia-Pacific.
Cramer has more than 15 years of work experience in the region, and has been involved in complex digital and transformational technology projects, platform collaborations and technology transactions, often involving disruptive technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence.
She also has deep experience advising clients on global data compliance programmes, the commercialization of data, and high-profile cyber incidents. She has advised on significant fintech projects and has been involved in the set-up of industry sandboxes.
Cramer also serves on specialist advisory committees covering the regulation of data, blockchain and artificial intelligence in Singapore and regionally.
She joins from Norton Rose Fulbright. Previously, she held in-house roles at two global banks where she focused on technology, data and digitalization projects across multiple jurisdictions.
The firm’s tech group serves as a single global team offering clients legal advice across technology and digitalization, including advising on artificial intelligence, digital assets, green technologies, data, cybersecurity and Web3.
Cramer’s addition to the team follows a series of appointments in the tech group in the past 12 months, including technology and IP partner Devika Kornbacher in the United States, who joined as co-chair of the firm's tech group alongside Jonathan Kewley (London) and Paul Landless (Singapore).
Additional recent hires include IP partner Don McCombie and TMT partner Zayed Al Jamil in London, IP lawyers Tobias J. Hessel and Stefan Richter in Düsseldorf further strengthening the firm's German and European IP practice, technology counsel Michael Evans in London and consultant Clarice Yue in Hong Kong, who advises clients on data protection issues across Asia-Pacific.
